BJP government will fall after June 1 voting, claims Abhishek Banerjee
Villagers in Sonua, West Singhbhum, experienced panic as Naxalites instigated fear by putting up posters containing anti-police sentiments. The posters, discovered on the Sonua-Lonjo main road and Banskata area, called for the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) from December 2 to 8.
In addition to urging support for PLGA, the posters conveyed the Naxalites' stance on maintaining Maoist influence as long as the CRPF FOB camp remains in the Kolhan forest area. The police promptly responded to the situation, removing and confiscating all the posters. The incident has fueled apprehension among villagers, marking an unsettling development in the region.
The poster-making spree is part of the ongoing Martyrs Week celebrations by Naxalites, commemorating the anniversary of PLGA. Similar incidents have been reported in various parts of the state, with the Naxalites issuing a call for Bharat Bandh on December 22.
The recent episode in Sonua follows a pattern of Naxal activities, including poster campaigns, witnessed in other districts such as Bokaro and Giridih. Authorities are on high alert as the Naxalites intensify their presence and communication efforts in the lead-up to Bharat Bandh.
